AUA 2026 EAB LAB Webinar: The Eight Practices of Highly Resonant Multidisciplinary Teams

Members of resonant teams feel connected, safe and supported, cared about, and valued as individuals who are part of a group with a shared mission and vision.  Resonant teams have discovered a way to value, respect and engage constructively with one another even (and especially) during challenges and times of disagreement.

Over the past decade, many healthcare organizations have introduced teamwork programs and other forms of training to teach team members a shared language and message around teamwork.  All these programs are valuable and useful in creating operational guidelines for improving teamwork by improving communication styles and providing protocols for managing crises or disagreements.  These protocols and shared commitments can change teams from the outside in. Our work focuses on some of the factors that can influence relationships within a team at a core level and lead to change not only from the outside in, but also from the inside out.  We have devoted 25 years analyzing and connecting research from numerous fields, studying personally with many leaders in relationship skills as well as working with numerous healthcare providers directly and through coaching trying to decipher the mystery of the philosopher’s stone that turns average teams into gold.  We believe that our Eight Practices of Highly Resonant Teams can help transform a culture.

Learning objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to list at least two practices that they believe they can begin to implement that will improve the culture of their teams.
  2. Participants will learn some of the science behind how people can have different experiences of the same thing.
  3. Participants will learn the 4 distinctions of trust.
